About

I'm in my 9th cycle of 7 years. I come from a small farm in Perthshire in Scotland, from a wee croft on a hillside. I’ve had a highly varied working life ranging from tree planter to call-centre worker, distribution logistics manager to organic farmer, and I toured and recorded with a number of Irish Bands as their fiddle player in Wellington, New Zealand during the nineties.

I currently live on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, where I create the graphic designs and maintain the website for Singing Bowl Granola www.singingbowlgranola.com.

I have been working away at graphic and web design since I was hired by Birnam CD right at the end of last century to become their graphic designer and sound engineer. I started with Photoshop 4 on an Apple Mac and Sam's Learn Photoshop in 24-hours book, over 20 years ago, my third career I think.

I love the world of nature and the environment, and I do my best to take good photographs of some of the many incredibly wonderful things I'm lucky enough to see.  And when I get the chance, I'll go and cast a fly for a trout.

I have played my fiddle as part of a duo called Kafoozalum, in the Slowpokes Ceilidh Band with my wife, another fiddle player, and ionce this COVID-19 issue is resolved, there may be a session at the Fernwood Inn in Victoria BC , 2nd and 4th Sunday's of the month.

And when I get the chance, I'll go and cast a fly for a trout, but that's a rare pleasure. It's one that I hope this website will help me to make a much more regular part of my life.

Anyhoo, I won't keep you.
